Dr. Larry Cohen is the lead medical epidemiologist for the medical and veterinary student programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
He received his B.S. degree in biology from Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and his M.D. and M.P.H. degrees from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. He did his internship with Morehouse School of Medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, and his residency in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine. Following his residency training, Dr. Cohen served as production director and HIPAA compliance officer at MergeCare, Inc., a software and internet development company. He then completed a two-year applied epidemiology fellowship as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer in the Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity at the CDC.
Dr. Cohen is board certified in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
