What is Calcaneal Apophysitis?

Calcaneal apophysitis is a pediatric disorder, which causes pain in the heel. It is an inflammation in the heel’s growth plate resulting from repetitive stress. It tends to occur in patients between 8 and 13 years old and is more prevalent in patients who are active or obese.
