We've just had urgent news come in about the Cruz case. She seemed to be doing the same yesterday -- maybe a bit less clear mentally -- but then early this morning, she suddenly seized and slipped into a coma. After a short while she stopped breathing, and was rapidly put on a ventilator. She has had a diminished response to painful stimuli and has changed from decorticate to decerebrate musculature. Her fever and white blood count have remained high.
Given her condition, please quickly revisit your differential diagnosis and make any recommendations as to what we should do. What do you think is happening?
I will have my Blackberry; please send me your recommendations immediately and I will let you know what happens.
