What is a CT Scan?
A CT scan is a computerized tomographic scan. It is also called a computerized axial tomographic (CAT) scan. A CT scan uses special x-ray equipment to produce an image that is a cross section or a slice of a part of the body. CT scans are performed to help diagnose a variety of medical conditions and may be performed on different areas of the body.
