What is an MRI?

An MRI is a test that uses magnets and radio waves to take pictures inside a patient’s body. An MRI can be performed on almost any part of the body.

What does it mean to have an abnormal MRI?

An abnormal MRI is indicative of disease or injury. An abnormality on a musculoskelatal MRI specifically indicate damage or disease a bone, muscle, joint, ligament or cartilage.
