Superworm: Re-engineering the Earthworm
Your Role

In this rotation, you play the role of a scientist who has been hired by Bill E. Clark, a billionaire with a foundation and a vision to solve the world's problems with really creative approaches. He comes to you with an idea that just might be crazy enough to work: to solve world hunger by making some changes to the common earthworm. Crazy? Well, it's not as crazy as it may seem. Earthworms live in soil, and they do things to the soil that makes it better for growing crops. So maybe, a better earthworm could help grow even more crops and feed more of the world's population.

Bill Clark and his lead scientist, Dr. Jamie Matthews, want you and your fellow scientists to develop a presentation on whether such modifications would be worth the time and money it would take to create a "superworm." You will work on your own and in small teams to make a final recommendation to Mr. Clark.
