Reflection Questions
Instructions: Independently, provide brief answers to the following questions. When you are finished, submit your answers to your mentor for review. There are no right or wrong answers, but your mentor will make sure you’ve thought the questions through to a reasonable degree. Then your mentor will select a few of the questions from the list to bring to a group discussion.
Tracking your Diet Plans
- What did the two different diet plans tell you about yourself and your eating habits?
- What was the most challenging aspect of following the plans?
- Were there times you felt compelled to “cheat”? When and why?
- Was one particular plan easier than another to follow? If so, why?
- Did you make healthier food choices while following the plans? If so, how so?
- How did your eating patterns change after you stopped following the diet plans?
- Do you think you will make healthier choices in the future after following these plans? If so, how so?
- If you had to follow any of the plans you chose permanently, would you be able to?
- Are you more or less likely to experiment with trying different foods after this exercise? If so, why?
- How does your experience in this task relate to the challenges that clients face when asked to follow meal plans by a dietitian? How does your willingness or unwillingness to follow each of the plans relate to how a client might react to a given plan?
- What was the most valuable aspect of this task for you?
