Now that you have analyzed both positions, you are ready to debate the issue of genetic modification of animals. You have worked hard to get to this point, so you should be well prepared. Keep in mind that all of this is in the service of helping the subcommittee understand the nuances of the issues, so as with the presentation, just relax and do your best.
There will be another team presenting the opposing viewpoint. This is a great opportunity for you to critique how a different team approached this task, and to reflect on your own debate experience to learn from what you see. After the debate there will just be a group discussion where you can give verbal feedback to the other team and receive their feedback as well. Although you want to make strong arguments during the debate, the discussion is intended to be more amiable. At that point, feel free to let the other team know where they had strong arguments and beat you, as well as to discuss areas where they could use improvement or even make suggestions how they could have countered your argument! Doing so will help make them stronger at debating, and a good opponent pushes you to improve yourself.
There's no need to submit a critique form for the debate. Just make sure to participate thoughtfully in the group discussion afterwards.
