Assess Jay's Needs and Risks
Now that you are familiar with the case, it’s time to dig a bit deeper so we can find out what was really going on with this client, Jay Carter. To do that, I’d like your perspective on Jay’s nutritional needs and risks. You’ll need to look at things like Jay's height and weight, diet history, level of physical activity, etc. to assess what he needs to be healthy and uncover any risks he might be facing that could threaten his general health. I want you to do your own assessment of Jay’s needs and risks, so you can knowledgeably critique Michael Wilson’s assessment of Jay a little later on. You might want to look at Jay’s Customer Satisfaction Survey because it may reveal some needs or goals that Wilson may have missed in the interview (or it may not, but it’s worth a look).
Prepare Your Report
Please use the attached Client Assessment Template for your assessment. Keep in mind, when you give a rationale for your assessment of the client’s needs and risks, the more scientific evidence you provide for your judgments, the more convincing you will be.
Of course it would be nice to conduct your own assessment by actually meeting with Jay, but I’m afraid you’ll just need to do the best you can with what I’ve already given you about him. Remember you have all the information from my last email.
Identify Questions Wilson Should Have Asked
One more thing - - as you conduct your assessment, you may find there are some things we don’t know about Jay because they weren’t asked in the interview. If you have ideas about additional questions you think Michael Wilson should have asked Jay that could have helped with the assessment, I would like to know. Please make a list of those questions for me. Similarly, if you want to make any changes to your earlier work on the Client Assessment Template based on the additional questions you think Michael should have asked, I’d be happy to take another look at it.
Looking forward to your thoughts.
